KPN Ventures has invested in SecurityMatters, a leading supplier of high-tech cybersecurity solutions for safeguarding industrial systems. This investment is in line with KPN’s strategy to grow in digital security services and to collaborate with innovative technology companies in that field.

SecurityMatters (headquartered in Eindhoven, Netherlands) was established in 2009 by Emmanuele Zambon, Damiano Bolzoni and Sandro Etalle. The company has developed a network monitoring solution (under the name SilentDefense) that enables organisations in, for example, the oil and gas industry, to protect their critical industrial infrastructure from cyber-attacks.

Since the introduction of SilentDefense in 2013, the solution has been rolled out internationally and is used in various sectors at power companies, in the oil and gas industry, at chemical and pharmaceutical plants and in the drinking water sector, among others.

Herman Kienhuis, Director of KPN Ventures, explains, “KPN is working with SecurityMatters to offer their SilentDefense cybersecurity monitoring software to industrial customers in the Netherlands. We are impressed by the team’s expertise and the quality of their product and see many opportunities to expand our partnership and support the company in its growth.”

“We are very proud to have attracted leading investors who are willing to use their expertise and networks to accelerate our growth and take our company to the next level.”
